So here is what’s going on…

"Three Orbs"Last night I played host with Jawna at the Happy Hour Professionals Meetup group at Bo Restobar, a Thai restaurant and bar located in downtown Portland.  It was a wonderful group of 40 people who enjoyed some wonderful appetizers, drinks and great conversation.  We arrived early to set up then the people started arriving.  It was a chilly night and parking was not the best downtown but it didn’t prevent people from attending.  I struck a conversation with Andrea, a newbie to all of this, and it was great.  She and I discussed her job and also the dating scene here in Stumptown.  She is 42, never been married, no children and wondered why it was so difficult to meet people here.  I told her of my experience back in San Diego before I met Rox and understood her plight.  I told her not to despair but when the time was right, the right person will come along.

After the Happy Hour was over, Jawna, Tom, Alan, Jeanette and I went to a place that I heard about, Portland City Grill.  It was in a high rise office building on the 30th floor with a panoramic view of the city, it was breathtaking.  I had a shot of Pendleton whiskey which is made at Hood River made for sipping.  I would never thought in my life that I would ever drink whiskey but this was very smooth.  We had a nice time talking about Maui, nude beaches and the economy.  Alan turns out is an electrician so we discussed jobs here in town and the weak economy.  Then Jawna and I decided it was time to go.  We had carpool to the event and she drove me home.  Rox had attended another Meetup group last night, it was the Law of attraction for life group.  She really gelled with this bunch and had a good time.  She arrived home just around the same time as I did and we got into our jammies to watch the episode of V that we recorded.  It turned out to be a lovely day.

I forgot to tell you that I had gotten results of my blood work yesterday.  Everything seems to be doing well.  My cholesterol was down including the HDL.  My good cholesterol is still a bit low so the doctor prescribed Niacin.  He also prescribed another blood pressure medication for me to bring it down even more.  My blood pressure was 146 over 84 which is just a little high, could be the white coat syndrome.  So, I am looking and feeling a bit better, I continue to do my walks everyday when I can, I have also lost a little weight.  Tomorrow, I get to visit the dentist to repair a tooth that I broke on a piece of chocolate about two weeks ago.  He had given me a temporary on a Sunday which was a lifesaver.  He was recommended to me by Judy and turns out to be a fantastic dentist.

Today I am going to do my walk and Rox and I will be going to Art Media to purchase a couple of canvasses, need to start another project.  I just finished one called “Three Orbs”, a 12 x 48 piece. By the way, Rox sold 2 of a 4×4 paintings the other evening so we are now formally artists, I sold my first one a 9×12 entitled “The Great Barrier” about two weeks ago.  We will continue to post our new work on my blog as they are completed.  I also heard that Debbie in SD took my advice to paint and she did that last weekend, I am dying to see the finished project.  Way to go Deb!

Ok, got to get rolling here, things to do and it is already 10:00 AM.  Have a great Hump Day and see you back here tomorrow.
